Gianfranco Frezzolini (1929-1994)

Frezzolini was born into a family of artists, including his grandfather Plinio Nomellini, and uncles Vittorio Nomellini and Massimo Campigli. His technical training followed a Tuscan tradition of landscapes and figures.

From an early age, he frequented Florentine and Tuscan artistic circles and was particularly close to Ottone Rosai, another well-known Florentine artist. Throughout his career, he remained faithful to tradition, however he also developed a distinctly personal and recognizable style and was revered as a skilled landscape painter and interpreter of the Tuscan countryside.

He had numerous solo exhibitions across Italy and abroad, notably in various cities across the United States, France, Switzerland and Denmark. He won several awards of distinction including the Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo, the Renaissance Committee of Oltrarno (Florence) and the Chamber of Commerce of Foggia. His works are featured in public and private collections around the world.
